The remarkable feat was accomplished between June 2022 and May 2023. During this period, all parties involved; contractors, owners, and consultants; contributed with their efforts to the project. Despite facing adverse conditions in the scenic Al Washihi mountains of Oman, the project persevered, showcasing the commitment of everyone involved.

Progesys, has been an integral part of the Alara Resources project since 2016, supporting various phases of its development. Currently, the project is progressing through the construction phase, aiming to achieve mechanical completion and facilitate the subsequent commissioning phase.

Ensuring the safety of all personnel involved has been a top priority for Progesys. A monitoring system was implemented in the project that proactively addressed safety observations, near misses, behavioural concerns, and hazardous conditions. Following Alara’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, as well as implementing international best practices, potential risks were swiftly rectified in their early stages, mitigating incidents that could lead to accidents.

The significance of this milestone cannot be overstated. It demonstrates the collective efforts and unwavering dedication of all those involved in the project. By prioritizing safety, fostering a culture of vigilance, and promoting effective communication, the project has achieved an exceptional track record of a million safe work hours. This achievement sets a benchmark for future projects in the region and reinforces Progesys’ commitment to the well-being of its workers.
